Blenheim Palace is one of the reasons people book a stay in West Oxfordshire. The UNESCO World Heritage Site just outside Woodstock has a packed calendar every year, and 2026 is no different. Here's what's on, what's still to come, and what it means if you own a holiday let nearby.

## Still to come in 2026

### Halloween at Blenheim (select dates, October to November)

The grounds become an after-dark trail with giant skeletons, glowing eyes and spooky lighting. It's a big draw for families over the October half term, so expect demand for nearby stays to peak that week.

### Christmas at Blenheim Palace (13 November 2026 to 3 January 2027)

This year's Christmas is themed around Cinderella. The story starts with a Christmas tree in the Great Hall and continues through the State Rooms, with a royal wedding scene and a pumpkin carriage along the way.

Outside, the Illuminated Trail uses more than a million lights, with Father Christmas waiting along the route and dog-friendly nights on selected dates. There's also:

- **The Great Skate**, a covered ice rink in the Great Court
- **A Christmas Market** of wooden chalets selling gifts, food and drink (until 20 December)
- **An Observation Wheel** with views over the Palace and the market
- **A Cinderella-themed afternoon tea** in the Orangery Restaurant, booked separately

Christmas is ticketed separately with timed entry, and parking needs to be booked in advance. A Cinderella ticket can be turned into an Annual Pass at no extra cost.

## The 2026 events calendar at a glance

If you're planning ahead, or want to know which weekends bring the biggest crowds, here's how the year has looked at Blenheim:

- **Servants' Tales and Gossip Tour** (January to 14 February): a guided tour of servant life, scandal and ghost stories
- **Blueprints of Power** (14 February to 10 April): an immersive exhibition on architect Sir John Vanbrugh, marking 300 years since his death
- **February half term** (14 to 22 February): family activities in the Walled Garden and Adventure Play
- **Easter** (3 to 6 April): outdoor family activities around the gardens
- **Jousting Tournament** (2 to 4 May): knights, horses, archery and falconry
- **Giffords Circus** (8 to 18 May, select dates)
- **Blenheim Palace Food Festival** (23 to 25 May): celebrity chefs, gourmet stalls and street food
- **Blenheim Palace Triathlon** (6 to 7 June)
- **Blenheim Palace Flower Show** (19 to 21 June): hundreds of exhibitors across the Floral Pavilion and Floral Street
- **Blenheim Palace Festival** (June to July): six nights of music, with headliners including Katy Perry, Teddy Swims, Pete Tong, Alanis Morissette, Neil Young and Michael Bublé
- **Life Through a Royal Lens** (10 July to 27 September): over 100 royal photographs, from official portraits to informal shots
- **International Horse Trials** (17 to 20 September): world-class eventing with dressage, cross country and showjumping

## Tickets and passes

A Palace and Gardens ticket or a Palace and Play Pass gets you into Blenheim for a full year, and covers entry to many of the events above. Day passes are £51 for adults and £41 for children, and the family Palace and Play Pass (two adults and two children) is £165. Some events, including Christmas and the music festival, need separate tickets, so check before you book.

## Why Blenheim matters for holiday let owners

Blenheim's events run almost all year, which helps smooth out the quieter months that most rural holiday lets struggle with. The big weekends (the Food Festival, the Flower Show, the music festival, the Horse Trials and the Christmas season) fill up nearby accommodation quickly, often at higher nightly rates.

To make the most of it:

- **Check the events calendar early** and adjust your pricing for the busiest weekends before they book up
- **Set minimum stays** around multi-day events so you're not left with one-night gaps
- **Mention Blenheim in your listing**, including how long it takes to get there, to catch guests searching for stays near the Palace
- **Plan for winter demand**, since the Christmas season now runs from mid-November into early January

If you'd rather not handle the pricing, guest messages and changeovers yourself, our local team can take care of it. Find out more about [Airbnb management in West Oxfordshire](https://www.passthekeys.com/en/south-east/west-oxfordshire-holiday-let-management/?hsLang=en).
