This is a really exciting time for Birmingham; the coming year sees the city play host to the Birmingham 2022 Festival, a six month long cultural programme beginning in March, and culminating with the Commonwealth Games. The city is also halfway through the ‘Big City Plan’, which began in 2010, and is the work-in-progress of updating the area, with changes already taken place such as the re-development of New Street Station, the Bullring, and Snow Hill Business District. Still to come is the regeneration of industrial Digbeth and the surrounding canals, West Midlands Metro and HS2, which will not only connect Birmingham with the wider Midlands, but with London and the North.
